Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey. Some meads are sweet and some are dry. A combination of fruits can be used to flavour them.

We like to use a tumbler, but actually any glass will do.

We like to drink our mead throughout the year. We enjoy it by itself but also in different cocktails.

We like to drink our mead with friends, but it’s up to you.

“Deoch” means drink, draught, elixir and potion. So, Friar’s Deoch means the Friar’s Drink.

We are proud to be an Irish startup and so including the Irish word here honours where we come from.

Friars are known for introducing bee keeping into Ireland and are closely associated with the history of honey here. This inspires us and so we built the story about a Friar who had made mead and wanted to share it with the world.
